The Wayne Community College Celebration of Food Science is a FREE carnival-style event for the whole family to learn about food science through hands-on experiments and displays. Outside, participants can learn about physics with experiments like MENTOS geysers. Inside, they can learn about food science from a chemistry perspective by making ice cream, gummy worms, and edible water bottles. They can learn about how food science is changing at the agricultural level, how the food they eat affects body and teeth, and about the connections between food texture and taste. This is just a taste of the activities at the WCC Festival of Food Science.
